I Tried A 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine For A Month

[  ] [ "Am I missing out? / Korean Skincare" ] - SAFIYA: Hello friends, and welcome to another video. This month, I'm going to be swapping my current skincare routine for a 10 step Korean one. In America, over the last couple of years, there's been a lot of hype around Korean skincare. I've heard a lot about the benefits of it, like hydration, anti-aging.

I see the words "brightening" and "plumping" a lot, but for me, There's always been a little bit of an intimidation factor in trying it out, mostly because of the amount of steps and different types of products there are. So I bought this "Beginner's Intro to Korean Skincare" kit kit from this website called Soko Glam, which includes ten products, and no instructions. But after a little Googling, I think I at least know roughly what order the steps are supposed to go in. It seems like I'm gonna be doing a lot of cleansing, washing, scrubbing, toning, essencing...

Whatever "essence" is, moisturizing, and moisturizing again. I am Sisyphus, the sink is my rock. This is a big step up for my current skincare routine, which consists of like three steps: Cleansing, scrubbing, and moisturizing. But I'm excited to try out this routine for a month and see if there are any noticeable benefits.

Okay, let's dive right in. Alright, let's finally clean this face, right? Let's get into it. I think that actually, in the evening time, we have nine steps, and then in the daytime we have ten steps, because one of the steps is like, SPF, but we've got nine steps for the night, so let's see how long that takes. I mean this is not one of them.

This is Tyler's hair mousse. - SAFIYA: But, uh-
- TYLER. Hey babe, I've been looking for that actually. So basically we start with a makeup remover, or oil-based cleanser.

It's called "Clean It Zero" by banila co.
Like vanilla, but... Banila. So basically, I guess you use your old spatula, you gouge some out, water hands, Bada bing, bada boom. - TYLER: You can do it with your makeup on? You don't have to take your makeup off first? This is *supposed* to take your makeup off.

It's like an oil. - TYLER: Are there any instructions in each one of these boxes? - SAFIYA: I hope so. [ LAUGHS ] [ READING ] "Use the spatula and take a reasonable amount of the balm." [ SURPRISED ] Ohhhh, it feels like coconut oil! - SAFIYA: [ READING ] "Gently massage the formula in circular motions onto dry skin to dissolve makeup." When I look at my hands, I've got these pellets of like, foundation-colored somethin-somethin'. [ UPSET ] I want to wash my face so bad.
- TYLER: You don't like it? I like that it's taking the makeup off, it seems, but I don't like how it feels on the face.

[ GARGLES ]
- TYLER: One step down, eight to go. Oh, there's a little oil in the eyes, but I think my makeup's gone. - TYLER: It's completely gone. Next is our water-based cleanser.

You cleanse with oil, you cleanse with water. And you moisturize, you moisturize. This is called the "Real Fresh Foam Green Tea Cleanser." [ READING ] "Pump one to two puffs, and gently massage all over wet face." Oh this smells so nice. It smells like whatever tea leaves are at the bottom.

I don't like matcha to drink, but on the face, I could accept it. Alright, patting dry. So the next step is exfoliator, so we've got this thing that they've given us. This is the "Strawberry Food Therapy Scrub Mask." - TYLER: [ EXCITED ] Ooh! - SAFIYA: Oh, it smells like strawberries, woah.
- TYLER: I want to eat that! [ MEOW ] - TYLER: Crusty wants some too.

[ MEOW ] - SAFIYA: Crusty, you want some? - SAFIYA: No. No.
[ TYLER LAUGHS ] Basically, I just massage this into my skin. [ SHOCKED ] Oh, it's warm, ahhh! It's warming! Ohh, it's warming on my face! I don't know if this is what it's supposed to do, it feels like, a little like, acidic almost? - TYLER: Yeah
- SAFIYA: Like as if it's kind of like, *attacking* chemically the top layers of my skin. Alright, it's been a couple of minutes, let's take this off.

[ SURPRISED ] Oh! My skin is so soft! There we go, step three down. Step four is toner. They're called the "Organic Cotton Treatment Toning Pads" by re:p ["Rep"]. - SAFIYA: They smell like ginger! "Right after cleansing, use one sheet of pad, applied to sweep across T-zone, and lightly tap on U-zone." "U-zone" must be this, right? I don't feel any different, but...

I think I smell a little bit more like sushi. Next is the essence. Here it is.
- TYLER: [ LAUGHING ] There's so many products. - There's so many things.
- TYLER: You're going to have to look this up like, every time.

This is the Galactomyces "95 Whitening Power Essence." It's basically like a second toner, I think? I think it just like... It's almost like a "pre-moisturizer"... [ DEFEATEDLY ] I don't know. It does *something* good for your skin.

Basically it says, "On cheeks, spread a generous amount to skin, and then tap the under-eye area as if playing the piano." [ IMITATES "DRACULA" ORGAN MUSIC
(J.S.Bach - Organ Toccata) ] Alright. I think I played the piano quite well. Oh... I missed the mask part.
- TYLER: [ CONFUSED ] What? I think I was supposed to do the mask before the essence step, so I did it out of order for this one.

Going forward, I'll swap them back to where they're supposed to be, but just for today I'm just going to put the mask on now. This is the Manefit "Bling Bling Hydrogel" mask, and I think like most masks, you just put it on for like, 15 to 20 minutes. The interesting thing is that this is one of the steps, but they only gave me one sheet mask. So I guess I'm just supposed to provide my own sheet masks? Here's my top half.

Oh, it's sparkly! [ CONCERNED ] Oh. It smells like Play-Doh. Aright, so it's on my face, I'm going to leave it on for like, 15 minutes, and then we're going to try and finish this skincare routine sometime tonight, man. - TYLER: This is *one* day.

Alright, let's take this bad boy off. [ SHAKEN ] Oh, God. I feel like I'm just moizturizing so much, like my skin is going to drown. So so far, we've done cleansing, cleansing, scrubbing, toning, masking, and essence.

So now we're gonna do lotion, then eye cream, eye cream, and then night moisturizer. I'm a little overwhelmed, but I think my face is going to like it. This is called the "Snail Bee High Content Lotion." Smells kind of like corn. It feels really nice though.

This is like my third moisturizing step in a row, and I have two moisturizing steps left. Alright, so that was lotion. Next up is eye cream. So this is the "Moisture Barrier Eye Cream" by Goodol.

- SAFIYA: Ready?
- TYLER: [ AFFIRMS ] - SAFIYA: That was way too much for the eyes. I'm learning as we go how much we need. Oh wow. Oh, it's a nice, rich cream.

Just pat that in. So that is eye cream! Alright, so the last step for the evening is this "Night Repair Cream." - SAFIYA: Is this not a cream?
- TYLER: Oh, that's hardcore. I think that actually maybe it's an essence, so we're supposed to put it on at the same time as this? Like, you're supposed to put two essences? I'm going to put this on now, but when I do this next time, I'm going to do it at the same time that I put this essence on. Alright, so I'm going to take a little bit, and we're just gonna put it on top of everything that's happened.

It smells kind of like, honey-ish? It feels really smooth, but at this point, I feel like I could just be feeling the layers of moisturizer that's already on my skin. So with that, I think I've used all my steps. The only other step that is in the routine is this thing, which is a SPF to put on during the daytime, so we'll start wearing that tomorrow. I think that in general, I feel really moisturized; I think I feel like, treated, like I'm like, "I treated my skin." I'm just gonna be a plump peach at the end of this.

But besides that, the time is lengthy. Maybe I'll get a little bit faster in general, just from getting the routine down. [ "Week 1" ] This morning I felt moisturized, and then I washed the moisture off, and then put it all back on, so I'm continuing to feel moisturized. The theme of week one was pretty much just that my skin was drowning in lotion.

An interesting side effect is because I was using my hands to apply so much of the moisturizer, my hands, especially my fingertips, are incredibly soft right now. "You're welcome" to anyone's hand that I shake during this month. The hydration also turned basically into fertilizer for my mustache. It's really been growing in like, nice, hydrated, smooth, long.

- TYLER: Because like, it's so moist, it's a greenhouse for your mustache. - [ LAUGHS ] It's a little bit like a rainforest. It's like, you know, you just keep it moist, and I'll start growing. One early problem I ran into was the sheet mask situation.

As I mentioned before, Soko Glam only gave me one sheet mask in the kit, So instead of going out and like, buying a ton of sheet masks, I figured, "Why not have Eve, my mask printing machine, print me one every night?" I want Eve to be able to take her sweet time and like, do what she needs to do, but there's no way I can do this every night. I mean, it's okay, Eve. Shh. I'm just going to cover her ears.

Yeah, she takes f***ing forever. - SAFIYA: But even without Eve, doing a sheet mask every day would be just too much time in general, so the ten steps turned into nine steps pretty quickly. I think I generally look like, more hydrated and more dewy. I may look a little tired this morning because I didn't sleep that much last night, but, in general, I think my skin is like, finally accepting the moisture.

By week two, I had gotten a lot faster at doing the routine, and I feel like my skin was looking like, pretty plump and young. Tyler noticed this and decided to try some of the products for himself. [ PLEASED ] Ooh! Oh, yeah. - No, not yet-! No-!
- [ TYLER SMACKING LIPS ] - SAFIYA: At least let it sit on your face for a second.
- It's like...

It's like jam. She's putting Smuckers on my face. - I do not recommend putting Smuckers on your face. - I do.

- So I can eat it now? [ SHOCKED ] Oh! Blech! [ SPITS ] - SAFIYA: [ LAUGHING ] You don't think it tastes good?
- It's bitter. - SAFIYA: [ LAUGHS ] Don't do that! - TYLER: It's much more bitter than you would assume. It looks delicious. That was gonna be the hardest part about it was not eating it.

I don't want it any more. Woah! A lot of seeds in there. Very physical. I mean, it's only one wash, but...

I like that. - SAFIYA: You actually look great, to be honest.
- Really? You could notice a difference? - SAFIYA: Yeah, you look better than me. Besides Tyler using, and also eating, some of the exfoliant, week two also brought about another hurdle. Something that's happening right now is that we're heading out of town for the weekend, and I'm trying to figure out how to pack my Korean skincare routine.

It's not necessarily going well. It is very difficult to travel with. I was only able to bring seven of my ten steps with me. I also had to check my suitcase to get everything here, because there was just too much fluid in every bottle.

They weren't quite "travel friendly." I also got my period that week, so between not having all my products, riding the crimson wave, traveling, and Chicago just being pretty darn humid, I started seeing some pimples. I started breaking out a little bit. Just like, there's like, one in the brow, there's like one over here, one over there. I feel like currently, I'm just equipped with like, 1 000 moisturizers, and I want to be able to like put on like a little spot treatment.

I don't have one, because that's not really part of the regime. I'm just gonna keep moisturizing it and hope that it eventually goes away once my period goes away. By week three, the pimples were still there. So I tried my current go-to spot treatment, which is tea tree oil.

But there are just so many other products in this routine, I felt like it was rendered mostly useless. So the pimples ruled the day. I got a good one going here, and then I also got a good one going up here. And a smaller one going there, and a couple more going over there.

I feel like the philosophy on skincare has changed a lot. Like, in the 2000s, it was like, "Oh, you have oily skin? You should dry your face out and wash it." And now it's like, "Oh, you have oily skin? You should cleanse with oil." What should I be doing? I don't know. Minus the zits, by week four, I felt like I had a pretty well-oiled machine. Literally and figuratively.

So this is me doing my whole routine in order. I think I finally figured it out, after weeks. So we've got oil cleansing, cleansing, scrubbing, toning, essencing, eye creaming, moisturizing, an SPF-ing. And that's it.

Pretty simple, huh? There is also my nighttime serum/essence, but I only use that at night. So, I guess it's only like, eight steps morning and night. 8 Steps twice a day, 16 steps a day. Um, 16 times 3 is 48, so 400 and like, 96 times? I did 496 applications of something to my face this month.

I hope that math is right. I think it is. - SAFIYA: Overall,. I enjoyed my month doing a Korean skincare routine.

I don't think that my skin looks like, completely different. Like, I don't think that my face just looks like baby's buttocks. But I do think that my skin is probably more hydrated than it's ever been before. I definitely think I'm going to use all of these products until they're finished, like, I did *like* them all a decent amount.

And I actually think that after using everything for a month, I do have a decent amount of everything left. Definitely my favorite steps were the oil-based cleanser and the eye cream. The oil-based cleanser is like, witchcraft. This thing actually really does take off all of your makeup.

The other product I really liked was this eye cream. Very nice, smells good, very moisturizing. I've actually been sneaking some of the eye cream up to the forehead as well. I don't think it's like, magnitudes better than any other eye cream I've ever tried, but the smell like, encouraged me to keep using it.

It was good for morale. So in some regards, like, using this kind of like, "starter pack" of like, ten steps, was a good way to like, get introduced to the Korean skincare without having to do a lot of decision-making or ordering myself. I think you could definitely like, substitute other products in for these products. It's more about just like, doing all the steps, and like, really like putting the work in.

And the *time*. And the energy. And the rubbing. I do think that I'm going to incorporate at least more steps into my normal routine.

Maybe not ten, or nine, or eight, but you know, maybe like five. Or six. I am going to look into a spot treatment though, because the pimples come and go, but they're definitely a presence. Thank you guys so much for watching, if you liked that video, make sure to "shmash" that Like button.

I Swapped All My Skincare For Korean Beauty Products

I Swapped All My Skincare For Korean Beauty Products

Hi, my name is Nico and this week I am swapping all of my normal skin care products for K beauty products. So my normal skin care routine usually only has three steps And that's cleanser, toner, and my gel moisturizing cream. Sometimes I'll throw in the occasional mask but not every day. Recently my skin has made the transition from combination to mostly oily so I use a lot of gel-based products in my normal routine.

So for the entire week I'm gonna stop using my normal skincare routine and make the change to Korean skincare items to see what the effects on my skin will be. We headed to Koreatown to pick up some products to replace my own. Okay, so we're gonna talk about the products in the order that I plan on using them throughout the entire week. First up is this Snail Solution Foam Cleanser that we picked up at Nature Republic.

So the reason that I picked this cleanser wasn't only because of the snail secretion ingredient which I thought was really interesting but also because it says that it cleans out all of your pores gets all that makeup and dirt out without over-drying your skin which is something I have a problem with with other cleansers. And then we got a ton of masks. So one thing I noticed while shopping was that character masks were really popular in these K beauty stores. So I thought it would be cool to try some out.

So we've got two here from The Face Shop. Which are the Simpsons characters, we've got Marge, we've got Homer. Next I picked up these tiger face masks Which were super cute at a store called Bes Fren. While I was at Innisfree, I noticed this little section where you could actually mix and match your own face masks using different ingredients.

So the two ingredients that I picked were mugwort and camellia. I also picked up this pomegranate collagen lip mask at Bes Fren because I've been really curious to see what these actually do I've seen them all over Instagram and I really want to try one. I also picked up this peach cotton emulsion. I have no clue what an emulsion is.

Peach isn't an ingredient that I normally see in any of my normal skincare so I was really intrigued by this product. It's supposed to be really moisturizing for your skin kind of like a serum. I also picked up this blemish care gel cream at Innisfree. I have really oily acne prone skin so I did pick up a gel cream instead of just a normal moisturizer.

And it contains salicylic acid which could really help with my acne. Hi guys So welcome to my bathroom. Tonight is the first night of my Korean skincare challenge. Just to give you a better idea of how my skin is doing at the moment I do have a lot of dark marks and acne bumps.

I wear a lot of makeup, so I do get frequent breakouts. So first what I'm gonna do is go in with my snail solution foam cleanser. I do like how this feels. So this cleanser is very thick, and it feels really good on the skin.

So I'm in the mood to do a sheet mask tonight, and I really wanna do Homer Simpson. So this sheet mask contains a serum that's infused with olive extract that provides moisture to dry skin. Oh my god. Do I look like Homer Simpson? What is on your face? Put your head down, it's not going to fall.

Next I'm going to use my peach cotton emulsion. Here we go It feels like a gel. It smells really good. I'm gonna finish off with my blemish care gel cream.

I really like that this gel cream has acne healing properties to it, because I do get breakouts sometimes. It smells very natural. It smells like a tree or something. Okay, and those are all the products for tonight, and I will see you guys tomorrow.

Hi guys. So it's night two and my skin kind of broke out a bit last night like I have some breakouts here and so I'm starting on my forehead so hopefully today. It'll get better. I don't know what I was supposed to apply this the instructions are all in Korean.

Boop. So since we did a sheet mask the other night I figured tonight we can try out a clay mask. Clay masks are probably my favorite masks to use because I get a lot of clogged pores, blackheads are like my biggest skin problem and they just really work to get all that gunk out of there. So the clay base is made with white clay, and it says it deeply cleanses the skin to help get rid of clogged pores.

I have really been loving this cleanser. I feel like every time I wash it off my skin feels so and nice and clean and smooth. It doesn't feel like it leaves behind any sort of weird residue. So this mask is said to reduce the deep wrinkles on your lips, so like these little lines everywhere.

My lips feel really soft. Not a major difference in the lines I wasn't expecting that anyway. But they do feel really soft and moisturized. So as you can see this whole side of my face is totally dried up which I'm really excited about.

The acne has just really gone down, the marks are fading away. Here, it's a little bit raw still the acne still red, but it's also settling down and getting a lot smaller so I'm hoping that by tomorrow It's all gone, fingers crossed. Putting this on really calms my skin. I feel like all that redness and tenderness just kind of goes away after a few minutes and I really like it.

Like I said before, character sheet masks are really popular in Korean skincare and these were just too cute to pass up. This is a tiger sheet mask. Let's slide this right off. It says to rub all this stuff in, so let's get to it.

We're back guys and my week of trying out all Korean skincare products is finally coming to an end. I had some hits and I had some misses. The snail solution cleanser was probably my favorite thing out of this entire experience. I would come home on days, take off my makeup with a makeup wipe, and then use the cleanser and my skin would feel so clean and so soft.

That emulsion. My skin tends to break out with heavily-scented products. And I feel like that was the one product that anywhere I put it, the next day I just feel bumps underneath my skin. It smelled really good.

It's so sad because it smells great, my skin hated it. The next product that I loved was the Innisfree gel cream. When I started using the gel cream I noticed immediately that the oil in my skin was starting to go away. My face looked much more matte, and it was still hydrating at the same time.

I love using gel creams for my skin because it is more oily and this one was gel But it didn't dry my skin out. I thought the lip mask was so much fun. It's hilarious for like about five minutes. It did make my lips really soft, but the mask itself extends beyond my lip line and the next day I noticed little bumps here and there around my mouth and chin area.

And I think it was because the serum from the lip mask broke me out. I loved the character sheet masks, but They are so oversaturated with serum it is ridiculous. You put it on and it's like dripping down your neck. I get the point of the mask is to rub all the excess into your face afterwards, but it was just so much.

It would slide everywhere. It was really slimy. It was just too much serum saturated into the mask itself that made it a little bit difficult for me to use. So another product that I really loved was also from Innisfree and it was that custom mask where you mix the two toppings into the mask base.

I thought the face mask was a lot of fun to do I had a good time just mixing all my little ingredients together, it made me feel like I was at a spa or something. I like that you have the option of picking whatever two toppings you want to put into your mask base, and you can address the different problems of your skin. I think that custom products like that that address your specific skin problems are super helpful. So aside from all the cool products that I got to try what I also really loved about this experience was the fact that it gave me a little something to look forward to.

A little me time every night. And doing a mask or something just makes you feel like you're doing a little something special for yourself and I really like that. Self-care is super important, and doing a little something like that just made me feel really good about myself..

How to take care of your underarmsGlamrs Skin Care & Home Remedies

How to take care of your underarmsGlamrs Skin Care & Home Remedies

Winters on its way out, and summers just around the corner! Its almost time to ditch the sweaters and scarves and dive back into wearing shorts and tank tops. Unfortunately, a lot of us are conscious about our underarms. We dont like how they look, theyre too dark, patchy or pigmented and we dont like how they feel! But, there are a few really simple fixes for this. Hi, Im Saachi, and in this video Ill show you how, with a little home care and the right products, you can enjoy summer, any way youd like to! If you shave or wax your underarms regularly, you may find that youre left with scars, bumps or even discolouration in that area.

So if this is a problem for you, try using a mild exfoliator a couple of times a week. Add a spoonful of sugar, hunt down some dried ground orange peels and some coconut oil. Mix well and apply this on your underarms. This will remove dead skin cells and any other dirt thats accumulated in that region.

Itll also help smoothen out the skin, and leave you feeling fresh. Grooming body hair is a personal choice, and you shouldnt feel pressured or forced into looking a certain way. Having said that, there is an advantage to trimming or removing hair from areas that sweat a lot. The bacteria that builds up in damp areas are responsible for body odour.

So if this is something that bothers you then its worth considering removing the hair. You can shave or wax your armpits, but be careful as the skin is sensitive. Once youre done, use a roll-on with 0% alcohol instead of your regular deodorant, as they dont sting or irritate the skin. Apart from being super gentle on your skin, roll-ons also help your skin smell good! This is a pretty big part of feeling clean and comfortable.

A current favourite is Niveas Pearl and Beauty Roll-On, this has 0% alcohol content and pearl extracts which make it super gentle on your skin. It controls body odour all day and the rolling ball covers the entire underarm easily. The fragrance is subtle and not too heavy as well, which we like. Taking care of the rest of your body is as important as taking care of your face, so its time you stopped neglecting it! Especially post a shave or wax, they can be left slightly irritated and the best way to help soothe and condition this sensitive skin is by applying a moisturizing agent like aloe vera gel.

Aloe vera is a magic plant, the gel can penetrate your skin and hydrate it from within, leaving you fresh and smooth. If you have dry or pigmented underarms and would like to improve how they look and feel, then this DIY mask will work wonders. Take some gram flour, a pinch of turmeric and add some lemon juice to it. Mix and apply this to your underarms.

Kick back and let the mask work on your skin for about 15 minutes. Do this daily for a week and you should see a big improvement. In a tropical country like ours, humidity is always high and wearing materials such as rayon or polyester can suffocate the skin leading to rashes and just an overall sense of irritated skin. You can make this less of an issue by wearing outfits made of breathable cotton or linen fabrics.

These fabrics wick away the moisture and help keep your skin dry, in a good way. And now that your underarm game is strong you can go ahead and wear sleeveless clothes confidently. So there you go, follow these simple steps in order to stay sweat-free, restore the bacterial balance of your underarms and feel fresh and confident all day long! I hope you found this video helpful! Thanks for watching and until next time, stay tuned and stay Glamrs..

How To Minimize Large PoresSkincare Solutions for Clogged Pores & Blackheads

How To Minimize Large PoresSkincare Solutions for Clogged Pores & Blackheads

Finally, today I'm touching on the most requested topic ever which is about Pores! How to minimize the enlarged pores or how to at least minimize the look of the pore, and how to deal with congested and clogged pores like blackheads and whiteheads I partnered up with the Pond's Institute to deliver more science-based, research-based, and more solution-based skincare tips for you guys, so let's get started. Three main causes of large pores The very first one being very, very, interestingly your skin sagging or losing its firmness. An easier way to understand this is to think about your bellybutton, and I know it sounds gross but this is the easiest analogy I can think of right now so consider your bellybutton as your pore on your surface of the skin. When you eat a lot your belly grows, right? [The] firmness and the plumpness of your belly is going to somewhat provide a cushion around your bellybutton making your bellybutton look smaller.

If you have a flatter belly, your bellybutton will look more obvious because there's simply no fat that's surrounding. So this is what's simply happening to our face as well it's no different, I promise you. Simply, the more mature our skin gets, it's going to lose its elasticity It's going to slow down in the collagen production and the elastin support that used to provide a really good cushion to hide the pores. So if you're over 30 and above, that's when you want to induce your collagen production with the help With Vitamin A derivatives like Retinol, Retinoic Acid, Retinoid Vitamin B3, like Niacinamide, Vitamin C.

Like L-Ascorbic Acid is a wonderful, wonderful active ingredient that can induce the collagen production. But if you're in your teens and your 20s I don't think it's necessary to incorporate these protein-active ingredients but what I demand you to do is to hydrate and moisturize really, really well and never neglect to do it because I know so many of you guys neglect moisturizing, neglect hydrating and keep drying their skin out because it seems like it's oily but the truth is, the drier your skin becomes the more visible your pores are going to look You just need more hydration and moisturization with good humectants, like Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, which is probably in a lot of products that you already use, so never neglect to moisturize. The second main cause is definitely the excessive sebum production. I have a full dedicated video on how to manage oily skin How to control the sebum production in a very healthy manner so definitely go check out that video I gave out a lot of useful tips that doesn't incorporating drying out your skin It's definitely something that will help your skin to find its own balance I know in summertime, a lot of you guys tend to get oilier including myself as well I mean the heat itself will raise the temperature of our skin speeding up the trans-epidermal water loss process meaning that your skin is losing the water content inside the skin and what your skin tends to do is that they want to balance that out they want to compensate the dehydration so they pump out more oil to compensate that So basically, in summertime you want to manage the heated skin like the temperature of your skin and keep it cool and chill.

Secondly, you want to take care of your dehydrated skin So green tea matcha cotton pad mask comes really, really handy Especially in summertime it's something that I really really love doing I simply saturate a  bunch of cotton pads with matcha Or green tea. You can use even green tea bags and just store it in the fridge it not only cools down the skin but green tea is naturally known for its very very amazing sebum regulating property Second thing that you can do is to store a sheet mask or store your toners or your essence in the fridge and then apply that, and to not only fix the dehydration but also regulate your sebum production Niacinamide AKA Vitamin B3 AKA my Holy Grail Ingredient is going to be a very wonderful superstar ingredient in your skincare game so something like Pond's Flawless White Day Cream that contains Niacinamide is not only going to help with you with hydrating, moisturizing your skin but it's also going to regulate the sebum production So moving on to the last main cause of large pores is definitely and obviously Congested Pore Problems so any kind of accumulated dirt or dead skin cells that build up inside the pore gland and any kind of traffic jam that's happening is going to physically enlarge the pores and also the bad habits like squeezing and picking on the pores or picking on the pimples will cause enlarged pores Before we jump into the solution I want to briefly touch on the FAQs about clogged pores and congested pores that I collected on my instagram so the very first question is "Does the steaming really open up the pores?" The heat is going to soften the hardened oil inside the pore tunnel so it's going to make it easier to extract the pore That's why a lot of estheticians will kind of warm up your skin a little bit before they do any kind of extractions That being said, "is blackhead extraction recommended?" This is such a tricky one to answer because I know regular extraction that's done professionally and correctly can do wonders in keeping your pore clear However in most cases at home, a lot of you guys try to squeeze it too hard, press it too hard damaging the skin cells, enlarging the pores just worsening the problem and you know, you might have a chance to get infected by bacterias. If you can visit a professional with this matter that will do wonders. "Are pore strips recommended?" (Sighs) I'm--I'm done guys.

I'm-- Solution for congested skin problem The basic step should be properly removing your makeup and I know it sounds really cliche but when I say "properly" I really really mean it because so many of you guys rely on makeup wipes and there's still makeup, dirts that are clogging your pores I find double cleansing methods to be the most effective way in removing the makeup but also the kindest way to respect your skin barrier function Use a dedicated makeup remover like cleansing oil, cleansing cream, cleansing balms Step number two is exfoliating regularly with BHA, AKA Salicylic Acid This is a chemical exfoliant that is oil soluble Now, don't let the chemical exfoliants scare you Don't let the name with acid scare you at all It's going to be way more gentle and more effective than the physical scrubs that you might be using right now Inside the pores, it's mainly oil so what it means is that BHA has an ability to penetrate and meet the oil and dissolve the oil and clean the pores if you use BHA probably two or three times a week with the strength of probably 2% is going to really help preventing the blackhead formation Step Number Three is using an absorbing ingredients such as Charcoal, Bentonite Clay Kaolin Clay and these are the ingredients that knows how to draw the impurities out of the pores However if you keep using it in a daily basis it does have a possibility to dry out your skin as well so finding a good hydrating clay mask is something that I would highly recommend you guys to do it Clay mask have better tends(?) To reach the pores than any kind of physical scrubs that you might use but it's not going to be as penetrating as chemical exfoliant such as Salicylic Acid so if you use BHA in conjunction with clay mask in a regular basis in your skincare routine I guarantee that you're going to prevent more stubborn blackheads from forming Step number four is Wearing less layers of makeup Especially in summertime your skin is already really Really oily and sweaty and when that's mixed up with your foundation More chance to clog your pores so in summertime probably wearing less makeup or opting for a foundation that you know it's not going to clog your pores is crucial Or go liberate your skin from foundation Just use sunscreen and a little bit of concealer That's something that I would do in summertime and that has been working immensely
in keeping my pores less congested Last step is to use sunscreen Deliberately and reapply it if you can I know a lot of you guys steer away from sunscreen because it seems like it's clogging your pores Just go through a little bit more trials and errors to find the right sunscreen Do not give up because UV light not only causes free radical damage giving your skin that oxidative stress it's going to cause inflammation it's going to break down the collagen meaning that your skin is going to mature easily Therefore it all drills down to the poor problems that I was talking about before it speeds up the lipid peroxidation it can make your sebum gloopier and oilier and it's going to have more chance of clogging the pores you can have more breakouts all because of the UV light if you have to take away one thing out of this entire video I would definitely say use more sunscreen Hope this video was helpful I will leave more articles or more references that you can read up on in the info box below as well as some product
recommendations so I hope you guys can check it out there and you are more than welcome to join this Palm Palm Fam by hitting that red subscribe button down below I'll speak to you guys on my instagram @aboutliahyoo Till then, stay healthy and happy! Bye!.

HOW TO GET GLASS SKINKOREAN SKIN ROUTINE

HOW TO GET GLASS SKINKOREAN SKIN ROUTINE

Today I'm going to show you how I achieve glass skin. If you want to see more in depth of my skincare routine, I will link my skincare routine video in the description bar. You can go check that out. Most of the products I still use and if anything has changed, I will introduce them in a little short footage.

I literally woke up 10 minutes ago and I just turned on my camera so you could see what my face looks like when I wake up in the morning. The first step, I'm gonna do is just run through my skincare and then I will stop and mention the new products that I would be using. Gonna wash my face. The new cleanser that I'm using right now is Perfect Whip.

I think it's from Shiseido brand. Senka. S-E-N. K-A Having good skin, we want to prevent wrinkles, so I don't...

Go like that. You just kind of massage it into my skin. Almost out, as you can see. It's probably like my hundredth one.

Jeju. What does it say? Jeju Sparkling Water Deep Peeling Pad. I use this in the morning and at night. Might be a little too harsh on some people, but for me, it's okay I...

My skin can handle it, but this has really Like, whenever I use this, I can automatically see my face. It's just like new skin. I'm gonna use my SK II Facial Treatment Essence. My uh...

Clarins double serum, this is a new one. And then for moisturizer, I only use Elizabeth Arden visual... Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex. Found that a little goes a long way with this cream.

This product right here is just so amazing. This is the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. A lot of flight attendants use this product on flight because it's really dry in the plane. Just gonna use a little bit and put it on my lips.

You put this on before you go to sleep, you wake up with buttery smooth lips. For this glass skin look, we want something that's very radiant and glowing. This is just like a strobing primer. We're just gonna use like the tiniest amount.

I'm gonna show you how little I put. It's not even a full pump... Like that much. It's good tho.

Make sure that the brush is like lightly coated. When you start distributing the foundation, you want to start off in this area right here. And as you blend it, you bring it up closer to the center of your face. Whatever you have left on your brush that's what you want to use around your nose.

Once the base of your skin looks too cakey, nothing about your makeup looks natural. The key point of this look is the skin. So you want to really focus and take your time when you're applying this. So you can use a Beauty Blender or one of these like little puffs.

Pat it all the way in so that it's very seamless. I'm gonna use like a small concealer brush, like this. So as you can see, I'm just really packing the product inside the brush. Wiping it off on my hand.

Just making sure that the brush is fully packed with product. In with this crease paint pot. Just to lighten it up, I'm just going to use like the tiniest amount. Do you see the difference? Big difference, right? I look a lot less tired, right? Key for eyebrows, stroke in the direction that your eyebrow hairs grow.

Spoolie. Big brows... Will give you a very nice natural look..

How I Got Rid of Acne Scars & Hyperpigmentation with Korean Skincare

How I Got Rid of Acne Scars & Hyperpigmentation with Korean Skincare

ACNE Five ingredients
to treat acne Hi, everyone! Welcome back to my channel. And in today's video, I will be sharing with you guys How I got rid of acne,
acne scars, as well as hyperpigmentation. Before & After Beginning of 2017 Jan. 2018 Still get hormonal
breakouts on the chin My acne journey
has been a long one.

But in 2017, I slowly but surely saw results using the products
that I used. And I did a video
similar to this in the beginning of last year where I shared with you guys "Korean Skincare Essentials
for ACNE." But today,
I wanted to talk about the top five ingredients
that helped prevent acne, as well as fade the acne scars. So, I thought
it would be helpful because I know how hard it is
to struggle with acne. I really didn't wanna walk
out of the house even though I had foundation on because I was so insecure
about the bumps.

But now, because I did take
really good care of the skin, I wanted to share
what worked for me, so let's get started. First, I want to talk about
AHA and BHAs. And if you follow up
with Korean skincare, you probably heard of the two because they were so
popular last year. AHAs are found
in a lot of exfoliants.

They basically help break down
the dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin. While BHA,
they go into the pores and help within the skin. Every day, I start with the COSRX Low pH
Good Morning Cleanser. And this is formulated
with tea tree, which is also great for acne, and natural BHA.

Some BHA products can be harsh
on the skin, but this is one of my favorites
because it is so gentle. And the product
is under 10 dollars. So, I use this BHA, gentle BHA product,
every morning, and sometimes at night
after my oil cleanser because I just love
this gel cleanser so, so much. And for AHA, I usually switch off
between the COSRX Moisture Pads as well as
the NEOGEN Gauze Peels.

A lot of people think
that these two are very similar, but they're actually
very different products. The COSRX Moisture Pad,
you can use it as a toner and you don't have
to wash it off. But for the NEOGEN Gauze Peels, after you use it, you have to
wash it off with lukewarm water. Cica cream? I'm using it right now.

This is like
the NEOGEN Gauze Peel, but you don't wash it off. It's like a toner, moisturizer,
all mixed in one. You're supposed to
wash the pad off? - The Gauze Peel? Yeah.
- Yeah, the Gauze Peel. Use the rough side.

Flip it over. Soft side. And then you wash it off
with lukewarm water. Well, I've been using it wrong.

Oh, well now you gotta...
Now, you know. You'll notice the difference. Both are gentle exfoliants
that I would recommend. But if I have to choose
between the two, I would go for
the NEOGEN Gauze Peels.

These are just so innovative
and fun to use. I know a lot
of people don't like them because they have this really
sweet and strong scent, but I personally love it. You basically use
the rougher side to exfoliate, and then flip it over
to smooth everything out. And don't forget to wash it off
with lukewarm water.

Because AHA has the tendency
to thin out your top layer, make sure you are generous
with the sunscreen whenever you use this
in the morning. But I use this for
my nighttime skincare routine, and I only use it twice a week because even though
it is a gentle exfoliator, I'd rather not exfoliate
every single day. So, I really, really love
this product. I almost forgot to mention
that this comes in wine, lemon, and green tea.

All three of those are packed
with antioxidants, which... You should know
that they're great for acne, acne scars,
and the health of your skin. The next ingredient
that I wanna talk about is centella asiatica, and this was also under
the K-Beauty Spotlight because it is high
in antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory
properties. So, so many brands came out
with lots of new products with the key ingredient
being centella asiatica.

But I will only share
my top three. So first, I have the Klairs
Supple Preparation Facial Toner. This is a hydrating toner
that balances pH level and ingredients such
as centella extract, which helped calm my skin. And because I have dry
and acne-prone skin, this was a holy grail
product for me because it did...

It treated
both of my skincare concerns. Be generous with this product. Be generous with this product. I noticed a big difference
whenever I layered it.

I noticed a big difference
whenever I layered it. The next product I have is the Very Mom
Seed Ceramide Mask Sheet. This is formulated with
hydrating ingredients. But because centella extract is on the top
of the ingredient list, I wake up to a brighter
and more even complexion.

So this is my go-to sheet mask, especially when I want to film
the next morning and I want my skin
to look a lot healthier. And this ranks at number one in my sheet mask list. The final centella
product I have is the Troiareuke
Acsen Recovery Cream. And this is actually the product that introduced me
to this ingredient.

And I really like this because it has
the highest concentration, along with other
special ingredients such as calendula
and salicylic acid. It is the most expensive
out of the list that I'm sharing
with you guys today. But it did introduce me
to the world of centella and it really did help
fade my acne scars. And according to other
reviewers out there, it also with pitted acne scars.

So, if you have
pitted acne scars or want to help treat your skin, I really do want
to recommend it. Because I have dry
and acne-prone skin, I try my best to look
for products that will help treat both. And snail mucin is
a great ingredient for that. If you're curious about
where snail mucin comes from and the benefits of it, I'll try my best to link
the best article possible in the description box so that you guys can
read more about it.

But my go-to snail product is the COSRX Advanced Snail
96 Mucin Power Essence. This is formulated
with 96 percent snail mucin, so you know you're not
paying for other ingredients. And I actually noticed an immediate result
the next morning. Because my skin was glowing,
it looks so much healthier.

And I did notice that my acne scars
did fade a little bit. So, slowly but surely,
this product does work. But I do wanna put it out there that my brother actually
doesn't like this product. And that says a lot 'cause my
brother is very loyal to COSRX.

BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. What to say? What to say? Honestly, it's just better
than any Up & Up product I used to use
before coming to Korea. That's all I gotta say. Next question.

But I know for a fact that my brother and I have
different preferences with skincare products because he has oily,
acne-prone skin, and I have dry, acne-prone skin. So, if you have dry skin and have breakouts here
and there, or scars that you wanna treat, I do recommend
using this product. The final ingredient that
I wanna talk about is vitamin C. And vitamin C helps
with acne scars, as well as sun damage.

And I usually go back and forth with the snail mucin,
as well as my vitamin serums. I don't use both together because, I mean,
I actually haven't tried it. But, I don't know, something about layering
two very highly-concentrated, like, vitamin C,
as well as snail mucin, I just don't know
what the result will be. Anyway, the morning after I used
vitamin C for the first time, I noticed an immediate result.

My skin was glowing, kinda like how
the snail had an effect on brightening up
my skin tone and fading scars. Vitamin C was very similar. And this is actually the very first vitamin C drop
that I tried. This is the Klairs one.

I've done a dedicated review
for the vitamic C drops, so if you haven't watched,
you can click up there. But the main difference
between the two is that there's five percent vitamin C. And 20.5 Percent vitamin C
in this one. So, depending on how much
vitamin C drop you want, you can choose between the two.

I do wanna say that this is
a bit more high-maintenance because you do have
to keep this in a cool and dark, like,
refrigerated area because you want to make sure that the vitamin C
is highly concentrated and it doesn't oxidize. But both are my favorite when it comes
to vitamin C products. And if you feel like
it's too strong on the skin, I recommend that you mix it in
with your moisturizer, so that your skin will slowly
get used to the vitamin C. So these are
my top recommendations for acne and acne scarring.

I hope that
this video was helpful. A lot of these products
should not be a surprise though because I did include them
in a lot of my reviews, empties, as well as my morning
and nighttime routine videos. So yeah, I thought
it would be helpful to put all of these products
into one video. Because in 2017, these products
really helped out.

So, if you are interested
in trying any of these products, I'll make sure
to link everything in the description box
as always. And please give this video
a thumbs-up if you found it helpful. And comment down below
which products worked for you. And share your reviews because everybody does
have different skin types.

And it might be helpful
for people who are venturing out
into the Korean skincare and they want more reviews
than just mine. So, let's make the comment
section a helpful one. And yeah, I'll see you guys
in my next one. Bye! Thanks for watching! Click here for more @JOANKEEM.

Hannah Bronfman's Nighttime Skin Care RoutineGo To Bed With MeHarper's BAZAAR

I've been traveling nonstop for the last two
weeks, so I could really use some nighttime tea, cause I have no idea what time zone I'm in. So I love these wipes. They're perfect to travel with. They're organic and it's by a great brand.

I've been using their products for forever. They're a Canadian company. Sometimes in one week, I'm on maybe four planes,
but I'm excited, because this month, I'm on no planes. Next up, I'm going to use a cleanser by Dr.
Barbara Sturm.

This is great. It's made for girls with darker skin tones. I also love this because it's actually a powder
that activates once you add water to it and it's great to travel with, because it's not
a liquid. I also love this cleanser because it really
gets your mascara off, which I always find is so difficult.

Now I think I'm probably the only person who
dries their face with organic cotton pads, but towels just freak me out. Next up is my beloved P50. I think you should really talk to a skincare
professional before you opt for this intense product, but for me, it's great and is also
getting rid of my hyper pigmentation. There's a technique people.

It's lifting up and going all around the face. Okay and next up, I'm going to use a serum
that's just really good hyaluronic acid, a really great amount of moisture for your skin. I just find that as soon as I put it into
my skin, it just absorbs so nicely and my skin feels hydrated and firm, like literally
immediately. So this is a new product for me from Dr.

Dennis
Gross and this is a retinol brightening solution, so I will add this as my second little serum. I love this one because it really helps again
with the hyper pigmentation, but also with the retinol, it can just be really good to
keep breakouts at bay and you know that we're always trying to do that. So I love this eye cream from La Prairie. It's something that I keep in my vanity here
at home and I'm so excited to use it every time I come home.

This is the first time I'm showing anyone
how I put my eye cream on, but I do circles towards the inside part of my eye. And then I use a moisturizer. In Fiore is a brand that's more on the natural
side and it's great for anti-aging, so I use it at night. I love the way this smells.

It has a beautiful floral essence and it's
just very elegant. And I'm done. No day can be complete without giving the
people what they came for. Night guys!.
